How it all begun — final chapter
Living on the street
While trying to cope with my divorce and fighting over the custody of our children, more bad news was coming my way.
Because of a reorganisation, I got fired from my job.
Living on welfare & ending up with no home to turn to because my landlord sold his rental I was living in.
Homeless and without a job is the least appealing candidate for a new rental.
Luckily I could sleep at a friend's place, but spending hours on the street during daytime, looking for a job and rental.
Got some casual work, but the earnings were not enough to start anew… let alone to pay the money I owned to many people.
This led to almost 2 years not seeing my children because I had no longer a place to live & where they could come home to.
I was a mess…
Turning point
Because I was living on welfare for almost 2 years, I became eligible for a state program in the social work economy that would guide me to a job.
First, they helped me to get a place of my own with enough space to see my children again.
It was an emotional reconnection with my children. Tears ran down my cheeks in floods.
Today, I still work in the social work economy as a guide for people who have a handicap (either…
