Happy Birthday to you!

According to Wikipedia “Happy Birthday to You” dates from the late 19th century, when sisters Patty and Mildred J. Hill introduced the song “Good Morning to All” to Patty’s kindergarten class in Kentucky. They published the tune in their 1893 songbook Song Stories for the Kindergarten with Chicago publisher Clayton F. Summy.

Although there is controversy regarding its origin.

According to Kembrew McLeod, there was a high chance that Mildred and Patty had plagiarized the ideas for the melody and lyrics from other musical pieces of the 19th century, such as “Good Night to You All” and many other greeting songs. People like Robert Brauneis, an American law professor, disagree with such a notion.

Happy Birthday to me!

Your birthday is a time for friends and family to come together and celebrate you, the anniversary of your birth.

Let me be the first to wish me a Happy Birthday today. 😎

Yep, I turned 53 today. Having equally that amount of years under my belt.

I’m turning one year older today, and I’ve never felt more grateful for the gift of life.

It’s been a long road (don’t ask how long!), but I’m proud of the person I’ve become, and grateful for the life I have. Every day is a blessing.

Last but not least, stay yourself.

Till next song (that matters to you),
